First of all, Milambar, Cammy, welcome back as soon-to-be admins!
Ailyssa, I hope to meet you soon. Welcome to the team!
And Katrya, welcome back :-)
Personally, I think Nebula would make a great addition to the list of
US-based servers.
Anyway, here are the results of the Routing Tests:
TEST 1: Silent Chatterbots.
The first test consisted of 5 sets of 200 silent chatterbots, each set
joining its own channel.
The 1000 connected perfectly.
Seeing Nebula.* has a Y:line limit of 1000 clients, there was no use in
connecting more silent chatterbots.
TEST 2: Active Chatterbots.
The second test consisted of sets of 200 active chatterbots, each set
joining its own channel.
I fired off 400 for starters, soon to be increased to 600.
When I increased to 800 a couple of minutes later, Nebula decided enough
is enough.
Conclusion:
Nebula should be able to hold the 1000 clients with ease.
The Active Chatterbot test suggest it should even be able to hold double
that amount of clients.
According to these tests, the server would be a good addition to our
network.
All I'd like to see on the Routing part, is how well Nebula sticks to
the other servers (as in, link stability).
Regards and good luck,
Ronald
